Kissimmee Airport’s Increased Operations Fuels Growth
Three projects underway total more than $2.3 million

Kissimmee, FL – May 27, 2008 – Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) announced today three current projects to accommodate its growing aviation businesses and enable them to best serve their customers, including aviation enthusiasts, aircraft owners/operators and pilots in training.

The Warbird Adventures Hangar II will include a 12,000-square-foot maintenance hangar and 5,000-square-foot office.  The $1.1 million project is currently in design, and construction is expected to begin in August.  Warbird Adventures, an aviation business located at the Airport, is matching a grant the Airport received from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

The WestOne Hangar will include a 6,400-square-foot aircraft hangar and office space for use in pilot training.  Orlando Flight Training, an aviation business located at the Airport, will occupy the building.  They will provide matching funds to the Airport for an FDOT grant and additional dollars to fund the $525,000 project.  A construction contract will be awarded in June.

The North Quadrant Fuel Farm project is currently under construction, including removal of existing underground fuel tanks and replacement with new above-ground tanks.  Signature Flight Support, a fixed-base operator (FBO) at the Airport, is also providing the matching dollars to a grant the Airport received from FDOT to help fund the $680,000 project.
