Marathon Flight Services Soars High in 2007

Kissimmee, FL – May 4, 2007 – Marathon Flight Services, one of the four fixed-base operators (FBO) at Kissimmee Gateway Airport, has recently been recognized as one of the top performing FBOs in the Western Hemisphere in the Annual FBO Survey conducted by Aviation International News (AIN) magazine.

The AIN Annual FBO Survey results consisted of 2,634 evaluations provided by pilots, dispatchers and executives. FBOs were rated in four key categories: line service; passenger amenities; pilot amenities and services; and facilities.  Categories were scaled between one and 10, one being the worst and 10 the best. Of the 258 FBOs that met the evaluation qualifications for the 2007 survey, Marathon was rated 36 out of the top 40 FBOs in the Western Hemisphere with an above-average overall score of 8.18.

“It is a prestigious honor to be recognized by the people who matter most to us—our customers,” Bob Birks, owner of Marathon Flight Services said. “Our business is driven by our customers and we work hard every day to exceed their expectations.”

In addition to this achievement, Marathon also contributed to record-breaking fuel sales for March. Marathon sold 143,274 gallons of fuel, bringing the airport total to 344,658 and setting a new record for monthly fuel sales. This is a 14% increase over March 2006 fuel sales, and can be attributed to the increase in business aviation activity from the HELI-EXPO 2007 and the Aviation Industry Expo tradeshows at the Orange County Convention Center.
