Kissimmee Gateway Airport Flies into the New Year with Record Fuel Sales

Kissimmee, FL – May 31, 2006 – Kissimmee Gateway Airport, (ISM), is keeping airplane fuel tanks fully loaded this year. The airport reported record fuel sales for the first quarter (January – March) of 2006. During this time, ISM sold almost 800,000 gallons of fuel. This is an increase of 44% compared to fuel sales at the same time last year.

March was an exceptionally good month for ISM — receiving the highest monthly total of fuel sales in the airport’s history, with over 300,000 gallons. This is an 11% increase over last year’s March fuel sales. Aircraft operations were also up by almost 4%.

“The increase in fuel sales and operations is attributed to the continued success of our flight schools,” Terry Lloyd, director of aviation said. “Also, business aviation activity was up in March due to several large shows at the Orange County Convention Center.”

Over 2.2 million gallons of fuel have been sold at the airport in the last 12 months.
